July is the time to focus on taking care of your grapes to enjoy delicious and large berries. Here are a few tips to help you achieve this goal:

1. Pruning and Thinning

Choose the right time to prune the vine—spring and fall. Remove excess stepsons to avoid stunting the growth of the grapes. When removing stepsons, use a knife or secateurs, cutting them above the 2nd leaf. Also, thin out the plantings to give the vines enough room to grow and tie them to a trellis for support.

2. Removal of Leaves and Bunches

In a month, remove leaves that block sunlight from the berries. Additionally, remove bunches that are poorly developed or infected with diseases. This will help provide energy and nutrients for healthy and sweet berries.

3. Watering and Hydration

In hot weather, water the grapes generously, using about 2 buckets of water per bush. Avoid heavy rains during the hot season, as this can cause the berries to crack. To preserve moisture in the soil, it is recommended to cover the ground under the bush with mulch.

4. Protection Against Diseases

Grapes can be susceptible to various diseases, such as gray rot, true and false powdery mildew, and others. After the berries reach a size of 0.5 cm, regularly spray the bushes with preparations such as “Topaz,” “Oxychom,” or “Quick.” Follow the instructions for handling and storing the berries after this treatment.

With these tips, you will achieve a sweet and large harvest of grapes this summer. Remember the importance of regular care, watering, and disease protection, and your grapes will be healthy and tasty!
