Every plant, like any living organism, thrives with proper care. To promote lush flowering and healthy growth, it’s important to feed your potted plants. Sweet feeding, made from sugar or glucose, has proven to be very effective. It helps normalize photosynthesis processes in plants, encouraging better growth and blooming.

When to Use Sugar Feeding?

Sugar feeding is beneficial when you notice the following signs in your plants:
  • Flowering has stopped.
  • Leaves have turned yellow.
  • Stems are thin and elongated.
  • Flowers are wilting.
  • Growth has stalled.
  • Leaves are falling off.
You can revive a struggling plant with three irrigations of sweet water. This solution can also be used to nourish seedlings lacking adequate light. Here’s how to prepare it:
  1. Prepare the Solution: Dissolve a teaspoon of sugar (approximately 8 ml) in 1000 ml of water. In summer, you can use a 5% glucose solution. Ensure you follow the proportions accurately.
  2. Additional Boost with Yeast: Adding yeast strengthens plants further by enhancing the breakdown of organic substances and releasing nutrients quickly. Here’s a simple recipe:
  • Mix a teaspoon each of yeast and sugar in 1000 ml of water.
  • Let the mixture sit in a warm place for about half an hour.
  • Use 70 ml of this yeast fertilizer per kilogram of soil. Ensure the soil is moistened before application.
Note: Sugar and yeast solutions are beneficial but won’t fix damaged plant roots. Ensure your plants have a healthy root system for best results. By following these guidelines, you can ensure your houseplants receive the nourishment they need to thrive and remain
