Before planting onions, it’s crucial to disinfect them. You can do this using a weak solution of manganese, Fitosporin, Trichodermin, Planriz, or Mikosan – M. To repel pests, consider using infusions of garlic, tobacco dust, or wood ash.

To prevent the bulbs from rotting in the soil, ensure the soil is well dried before sowing. Alternatively, a couple of days before planting, treat the bulbs with boiling water, then dry them and add potassium permanganate to the beds.

In the spring, process the onions as follows:

  1. Dissolve 10 grams of manganese in a bucket of water.
  2. Soak the seeds in the solution for 25 minutes, then rinse and dry them.

For pests and diseases, additional steps are necessary. Water the beds with a solution of copper sulfate by dissolving 5 grams of powder in a bucket of water. You can also use a solution of Alataru or Muhoid.
