- 2 kg of fresh strawberries
- 2 tbsp. sugar per jar
- Hot water
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash them thoroughly under running water. Briefly soak in hot water for 5-10 minutes to remove any pests. Remove stems and rinse again.
- Jar Arrangement: Pack the clean, sterilized jars with the prepared strawberries.
- Add Sugar: Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar into each jar over the strawberries.
- Pour Boiling Water: Fill each jar with boiling water right up to the brim.
- Sterilization: Seal the jars tightly and place them in a pan filled halfway with hot water. Bring to a boil and sterilize for 15 minutes.
- Sealing and Storage: Screw the lids on tightly. Invert the jars and wrap them in a towel. Let them sit inverted for a day before storing in a cool, dark place.
- Choose firm, ripe strawberries for better preservation.
- Before use, allow the jars to thaw slightly in the refrigerator.
- Use preserved strawberries in compotes, jelly, jam, yogurt, ice cream, and more.
