Petunias, with their unpretentiousness and vibrant palette of flowers, are a favorite among gardeners. These flowers look stunning in city flower beds, summer cottages, and even on balconies.

Thanks to their active flowering, petunias delight us with colorful blooms for four months, while extracting many nutrients from the soil. Therefore, fertilizing will greatly benefit these plants.

Complex fertilizers can be effective, but homemade methods are often cheaper and just as beneficial.

One effective approach involves using items from your home first aid kit. Hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, and boric acid can help strengthen the leaves, enhance the brightness of the buds, and repel pests.

If you notice your delicate petunia flowers wilting or growing poorly, try feeding them with yeast.

To prepare a yeast solution: grind 20 g of dry yeast with 2 tablespoons of sugar in 2 liters of warm water and let it sit for 2 hours. Then, dilute the solution with ordinary water at a 1 to 5 ratio.

Water the flowers at the root with this solution and also spray the leaves and flowers. You’ll see noticeable strengthening of the plant and the emergence of new buds after several waterings.

Another great booster for active flowering is ash. After using the yeast solution, you can spray petunias with ash infusion (mix 1.5 cups of ash with 1 bucket of water, adding a bit of soap for adhesion) or sprinkle ash between the rows. Additionally, ash helps repel ticks and snails.

With these simple methods, you can revitalize your petunias, making their flowers bright and hardy!
