Hello friends, Brightly beautiful orchid branches always make us fall in love. However, at some point these beautiful flowers will wither and fall. At that time, do not rush to cut off these flower branches. Because today, I share with you another way to propagate orchids from withered flower branches. Just a few simple steps, from flower branches, small plants will grow, making propagation easier. Seedlings grow quickly and healthily.

Vitamins and Nutrients from Tomatoes.

Tomatoes contain a lot of vitamins A, B, C and other minerals such as Phosphorus, Potassium will help the tree grow and develop into a small tree quickly in the most natural way. We will use 1/2 tomato. Cut into small pieces and put in blender. Add 200ml of water and puree. Filter out residue. Dilute tomato juice with 1 liter of water. Leave it there for now and we’ll use it later.

When the flowers have faded, if the sleeping eyes are still green, you should keep them for propagation. Use scissors to cut out the part containing the flowers. The 2nd and 3rd node position of the flower branch is where the small orchid will grow. Then use a razor to cut it again to prevent the cut from rotting. Apply trea seal or 502 glue to dry the cut and prevent water from entering. Remove this layer to help nutrients be absorbed better. Use a small cotton pad to soak in this tomato juice. Then squeeze out the water. Wrap the cotton pad around the sleeping eye so it stays moist and helps the little plant quickly revive. These cotton pads will dry out, but the vitamins and nutrients from the tomatoes will seep into the flower stems. Helps plants grow better, small plants revive very quickly. Place in a cool place (from 22=28°C) and wait for the surprise. You can use tomato juice as a fertilizer. Clean the top and bottom of the orchid leaves with this water. Helps leaves photosynthesize well and absorb many nutrients. Nutrients absorbed through orchid leaves will also help keiki grow healthily and bloom longer. Do this once a month. Don’t forget to mist the cotton pad with moisturizing mist every 3 days with clean water. Next you can use diluted tomato water to water the orchid base. Doing this once a month will help the roots firmly adhere to the substrate and absorb more nutrients or soak for about 15 minutes if the growing medium is dry. The roots will grow like crazy. You can also use tomatoes as a trap, to catch organisms that are harmful to orchids such as snails. Do this in the evening (from 6pm – 10pm). After catching the vandals, take the tomato pieces away. With this simple method, depending on the flower variety, there are fast plants, slow plants, Usually, within 2 to 4 weeks, right at these locations, the small plants will be revived. Continue to a cool place (from 22=28°C).

After 2 months, small plants have grown very well on the flower branches. After 3 months, the roots have grown very fast and long I have successfully propagated many of my orchids. We will take out the small orchid and transplant it into a new pot to help the plant grow better. I use charcoal and pine bark as growing medium for orchids I covered it with a layer of moss to keep it moist. Secure with sticks and clamps so that orchid roots are not damaged. Once the roots are firmly attached to the substrate, you can remove the moss. Spray moist mist regularly.

Hope it will help you a lot. Wishing you good health and success.
