In fall, gardeners must focus on protecting fruit trees to ensure their health through the cold season. Proper care is essential to shield the trunks from sunburn and prevent the bark from cracking due to frost.
Instead of using traditional whitewashing, you can create a special protective solution with the following recipes:
Option #1:
Dissolve 2 kg of slaked lime in a bucket of water and add 300 g of copper sulfate.
Option #2:
Similar to the first recipe, but with the addition of a small amount of clay. The mixture should have the consistency of thick sour cream.
Option #3:
Use 3 kg of chalk and 50 g of laundry soap per bucket of water.
Application Tips:
It is recommended to apply any of these solutions to not only the trunk but also the skeletal branches, at least up to 1 meter in height. This form of protection will help safeguard your trees from frost, sunburn, and other garden challenges.
