Hello, nice to see you again! If you want orchids to have many spikes, orchids bloom a lot, have bright colors and always grow healthily. I will share with you another way to make natural fertilizer for orchids. Use ingredients available in your kitchen. When used properly, it will help promote branch growth and blooming.
Rice as a Fertilizer
The orchid grows many new flower spikes. Today I will make fertilizer with rice. Roast rice for about 10-15 minutes over low heat I do this so it can be turned into powder in a blender. If you don’t have a blender, you can pound it like I do. The reason I specifically use rice is because flowers grow very quickly with phosphorus, potassium, nitrogen and sodium and vitamins, bloom a lot and rice has a lot of these substances. Put 1 liter of warm water into a glass jar. We will melt the rice flour that we have prepared by adding as much hot water as possible. All the vitamins will seep into the water anyway, you just need to wait for the water to cool. We need to leave it for at least 1 hour for it to dissolve and the vitamins go into the water. In order for the plant to produce more flower spikes faster, we will add bananas to this fertilizer formula Bananas contain a lot of potassium and calcium. Has the effect of making orchids strong, promoting new buds, keeping flowers long-lasting, beautiful colors… We will chop the banana peel and put it in a blender Add 250ml of water and puree Filter out banana residue My rice water has completely cooled down. Mix it with banana peel water to create a super nutritious fertilizer for orchids. Remember to leave the residue under the ice. Now that it’s ready, give this water to the orchids right away.
METHOD 1: Apply fertilizer directly to orchid roots If your orchid is very dry before applying the fertilizer solution, consider giving it a little water first. By wetting the growing medium first, it helps increase the roots’ ability to absorb nutrients. Now we will apply a moderate amount of fertilizer to each plant. Well, I will show you the results soon. You can apply this fertilizer to all orchids once a month. Be sure to water the orchid with normal water before applying liquid nutrients. Feed your orchids this type of fertilizer 1-2 times a month. Water alternately with clean water. We do not water orchids with only liquid nutrients for the plant. This type of fertilizer will help the roots grow very quickly You can dilute this fertilizer with water and submerge the orchid roots in it. Harmful insects such as mats, snails, and slugs will be eliminated. This potassium-rich fertilizer will help promote abundant flowers, beautiful colors, and increase the value of orchids.
METHOD 2: Clean the top and bottom of the orchid leaves. This is where fungi and insects often reside. Cleaning the leaves regularly will help keep your orchid lush, clean and shiny. The stomata will open and the plant will photosynthesize better Thanks to that, the tree will stay healthy and bloom all year round.
METHOD 3: We will put the remaining water in the freezer and wait for it to freeze in the freezer. The rice water I left in the refrigerator overnight has now frozen solid. Now I will show you how to use these stones on our orchids. You can place 2 or 3 of these ice trays on each orchid pot. Doing it in the fall will help your orchids sense the changing weather more quickly.
Note here: do not place the orchid roots directly on the rock.
Thanks to applying this method, my flower plants have grown many flower spikes and bloomed all year round.
